Reviews

Reviews may be submitted for any book relevant to cultural musicology, but we are especially eager to include reviews of PhD theses. These usually are not included in Journals, as they prefer to review published works. However, in the age of digital publishing, such a choice becomes rather arbitrary. The reason Journals prefer printed versions over PhDs is that PhDs are often ‘extreme’; to argue a point they will go to greater length than the average reader (buyer) cares for. However, for a scholar, the materials omitted in a consumer’s edition could be of great relevance. See the submenu for individual reviews.
